My Brother

Stayed up late last night and watched the Olympics again. It's awesome. My brother's baseball season is finally over. The team finished in second place! My brother is a baseball freak. He's constantly on the Major League Baseball website and during baseball season, he watched the Cardinals DVD every day! He just told me he wanted to get on the Internet after me. He's going to listen to another baseball game... again! He screamed to the top of his lungs when Dad told him we were going to a Baseball Museum to see all the Cardinals' bats. Oh, brothers!

Two World Records

After my brother lost one baseball game, my dad said something cool the next morning.

He said that the famous baseball player, Babe Ruth has two world records in baseball:

1. The most home runs
2. The most strike outs

I never thought of it that way. He said some famous Super Bowl coaches lost every game in their first season. Albert Einstein's tutor said he would get nowhere in life. On a interview with 60 minutes, Taylor Swift talked about her how her family really didn't support her when she wrote 'Lose Story.'
"So you had to prove something?" the interview asked her.
"Yeah," she replied. "It's almost more fun that way."

It is fun to prove everyone wrong, but you have to learn to never give up.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord."

Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Psalms 139: 11-12

If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me and the light about me be night."
But even the darkness is not dark to You, for darkness is as light to You.

Every Ros Has a Thorn

The first day when were together
It was so beautiful
I actually thought that nothing could separate us
The next day you gave a flower
 I took that rose
And held it to my nose.
Then I danced around my room
I wish I had only known

That every rose has a thorn
Every curtain has been thorn
Sometimes love can be burned
It doesn't have to take a wild turn
It does who you are or who you're gonna be
If it's meant to be or if it's real at all
it will stand tall
Make sure the love is real before it's born
And remember,
every rose has a thorn

Well, I was still dancing when the storm hit
I didn't know what to do
I gave everything for that rose
but I guess it wasn't enough
I tried to keep  myself calm
But one day was heart was going to bust.
I ran, and darted, and dashed
And throw the rose in the trash

Look before you jump
You never know when you're going to fall
It'll be okay
It'll be no time at all
before you'll be standing tall

What's the Point?

There was a poem I posted called Alive! It was about a girl who almost committed suicide. If you've read the poem, you'll know that she didn't committed suicide.

Well, she actually did.

No, that the kind of suicide when you take a gun or whatever and kill yourself, the spiritual kind.

In Luke 9:23, Jesus says, "If anyone will come after me, he must take his cross up daily and follow me."
A cross is death. In that time, they killed their prisoners by hanging them on a cross. You could kill yourself, by nailing yourself on a cross.

To follow Jesus, you have to take up your gun, your knife, and follow him. Let's face it. We've all had thoughts of giving up. But to follow Jesus, we have to depose of those thoughts. There's always hope with Jesus.

We were born in sin. I find joy in sinning, but when I gave my life to God, I committed spiritual suicide. You have to die to yourself, and not just when you decide to follow Jesus. You have to do it daily.

Q. What's the point of living?
A. Jesus. Jesus is the reason we're here, and without him, there is no point.

When I went to the David Crowler concert, one of their songs said, "Life is worth living because he lives."

That's so true.

Don't Forget to Remember Me

Here's a song I wrote yesterday:

"I guess we're over now.
I guess this is goodbye.
I don't understand how.
All I can remember is the day
When I told you, "I can't stay mad at you for anything."
I want to go back.
To the those days when we were so innocent
We gave everything we had.
But there was something we lacked
Before you go away
I just wanna say:

"Don't you remember those days
When we were kids?
And life was so simple
Don't you remember that life?
Do you remember ever standing by my side?
Don't you remember when I asked you if I was your best friend
And you said "Yes."
Everything is not what it seems
But it's over now.
So don't forget to remember me.

Those days were so beautiful.
Before we were sucked into a black hole.
But remember when life fell apart.
Before we were older
And you cried on my shoulder
Thanks for being with me when I was attacked.
I used to hate those days and now I'd do anything to get them back.

(Chours)

Remember when I held you close?
Remember when we were nose to nose.
Remember when the first time you said, "I love you."
Remember when you said "I do."
I don't care where we go or what we do
I'll always love you."

What Love Really Is

I was at Italian Village, waiting for the guy to call my name
And I turned and saw a sweet thing
It was a couple
Sitting at a table
Their food was cold
They didn't care
She was leaning on his chair
Whispering and smiling
Their love was louder than thunder
And I sat back and wondered,

"Is that what love really is?
Giggling, whispering, acting like kids
Talking for hours
Listening to love songs, like 'Ours'
Holding hands
Is love really that sappy and sweet?
Is love just a big treat?
Is it as easy as this?
Is that what love really is?"

I was still waiting when I saw something else
An old couple sat at a booth
They didn't say a word, to each other and that's the truth
Now someone saw them and said, "How sad."
But I sat back and thought 'That wouldn't be so bad'
As I wondered when my order was comin'
I sat back and thought again,

"Is that what love really is?
You don't have to say anything
'Cuz you've said it all
Growing old, hair turning gray together
You don't have worry about anything
'Cuz you've got each other
You never have to kiss
Because you've done it again and again
Is that what love really is?"

Now I was walking out, when I saw a church
I saw two pictures
One was a man on a cross
And other was the same man rising to save all of us
I smiled, and thought again

"Now that's what love really is!
Giving up all that was his
And dying to save the lost
Which by the way, is all of us
Dying for everyone, the ultimate sacrifice
Freeing us forever, defeating the lie!
There is no other love like this
He's what love really is!
And his name is Jesus
JESUS!

The Ultimate Cost

When a person has not followed Jesus, he is a 'slave to sin.'  When Jesus finds him and he is redeemed. What is he now?

He is not a slave anymore.
But he is not a worker for Jesus. We can't work to get to Heaven. We don't work for Jesus. Nothing he does can score any points for yourself on Judgement Day.

Then who he is?

He is a follower.

A follower is more than a believer. You can believe in Jesus all you want, but if you don't follow him, it doesn't do anything. Believing is important of course. You have to believe to follow, but believing alone doesn't mean anything.

Doing your own thing and ignoring God has a cost. Living a lie has a cost. Living for Satan has a cost, but living for God has the ultimate cost.

Jesus told us about the cost.  Everybody hate Christians for some reason. In some countries, they can take other faiths, but Christianity? No deal. It's very ironic because all those other faiths they do accept, are lies, but the one they won't accept is the truth.

You'll mother might hate you for being a Christian. Your father will. Your friends will. Your teacher will. The government will.

That's the reason people run away from it, because it has a cost.
But think about it like this. If you got cancer, and had to do chemotherapy, would you?

It has a  cost. You lose your hair and have to do a bunch of other things. Would you do it?
Of course you would! Even though it has a cost, it keeps you alive, right?
It's the same thing with following Jesus. Chemotherapy can keep you alive for awhile, but you can still die. But with Jesus, that will never happen. How?

To follow Jesus may the ultimate cost, but it has the ultimate reward. All those other beliefs lead to destruction, but mine leads to eternal life.

It's MY Room, it's MY Life

My brother is a normal guy. When we were younger, he liked my room better this his own. (Maybe because mine had a huge gym mat that he could jump on) So he would come in my room, completely uninvited and unwanted, and I would be usually typing on my old laptop or listening to music. No matter how much I pushed, threatened, pleaded, and yelled, I couldn't get him to budge.

This reminds me of God. For awhile, I have tried all I could to keep me and God on a 'causel friend' relationship. While that stage was going on, I went my own way, and experimented with a few things that could numb the pain in  life But just recently, God got in my life, completely uninvited and unwanted, but through that I realized how much I need Him, and I can fight all I want, but nothing is going to stop Him for getting in my life.

The Christian band, Addison Road has a song called 'Sticking with You.' One of the lines says, "I'm pushing forward till your walls come down/if you understand, I'm going to be around/ I'm sticking with you." In this song, the band is singing about what God says.

This is a poem I wrote about a different subject, but it kind of goes with this.

If I never knew You, I would never have changed
If I never knew You, I would still be out of range
If I never knew, I wouldn't have realized
The true meaning of love and sacrifice
If I never knew You, my life would be the same
But it's definitely better that way

Sometimes we think we have no room for God, but let's face it: If we don't have room for God, we really can't have any lasting relationships. Everybody in my life is going to fail me, and I'm going to fail everybody, but God never will.

It might be my life, but God created me, and gave his Son up for me. I think He deserves a say in it.

An Awesome Blog

Here's my best friend's blog! It's awesome! Please go on it!

To Fall

Sometimes it feels so great
To fall
It seems like you're standing tall
You smile as you walk towards the cliff
All you can see is riches and charm.
The deceiver leads you to your death
Innocent as you are
You look below at destruction
You take one step,  plunge down
Away from your friends, your family, your town

You grin from ear to ear
You don't even shed a tear
You're flying, you're falling
For ever so long
It feels so great, so terrible
So right, so wrong
You're so amazing now
And yet you're so small
Oh yes, it feels so great
To fall

Until you wake up on the ground
With no one to hold you in their arms
Now are you standing tall?
Oh, it has a terrible ending.

When you fall

Hi, I'm Sarah, and through this blog I will talk about writing, and how much I LOVE it! I am a Christian, and have a nice family, and a cute beagle named Rudo. I would like to thank people that helped me to write, like my friend who has her own blog called Dog are Fabulous. She has encouraged me though my writing carrer.

So this  POST is for my best friend!

Old Grapes

Once, my grandfather gave me some grapes. Happily, I took them because I  love grapes. When we left his house, and got in the car, I started to play my DS while eating the grapes. I ate about five before I realized they were bad. It took me awhile to see it, but when I did, I stopped eating them.

It's the same thing with sin. When I sin, Satan gives me distractions to prevent from realizing it. When I do, I stop, but some times it might be hard to stop because I did it before. That is not always the case, but I must keep my eyes open for it.

It shows that we are so sinful, we can sin, and we don't even know it! That just shows how awesome God is to love us! He is so perfect, we would die if we looked at him face to face! And we sin without even knowing it!

God is loving and perfect! I am so blessed to have in my life.

"Love keeps no record of wrongs."

Sarah

The Real Truth

Even when creation began, there was something that is still here today.

Marriage.

But now, the world has came up with a new idea, girl-girl, boy-boy.  I never understood why people would do it, until I read, Bright Purple. It was an amazing book. It makes you look at it differently without making you want to support it. I still dislike it, and I still know it's wrong, but I look at it differently.
I am anything, but gay. But I admire gay activists. Well, actually only one, Katy Perry.

Now I only like a few of her songs. (the rest are unexpectable) But when the former Christian singer, released 'I Kissed a Girl' she was very brave.

Everyone doubted it. People said, 'How were gonna get the song to play on the radio? How are we going to get it to sell?'

Yet, it was a huge hit.

Now, she one of the most succuesful stars today.

Am I saying I've turned gay? No, and I hate the song, 'I Kissed a Girl'. But I want to stand up for what I believe like she did.

That's one of the reason I want to cry when I think of Katy Perry. She's so fearless, she's so courageous, she she is unashamed of what she believes in.

Yet, what she believes in is a sin. She's living a lie.

Her new single about her redemption. She knows she was wrong. "How could've I read the stars so wrong?" she asks herself.

"'I'm wide awake. Yeah, I am born again. Outta the lion's den," she sings. Later, "God knows I tried. Seeing the bright side. I'm not blind anymore."

Also, the co-writer of the song said Perry would be taking a turn from her previous style of music. We'll have to wait, and see.

But in the meantime, I'll stand up for the Truth. My dad's life motto would probably be, "I'm not ashamed of the gospel, because it's the Good News, and who can be ashamed of the good news?"

Well, I can't.
